Glovers Atoll Island Lodge is located on a privately owned 9 acre; 5 hectare Northeast Cay in the Glovers Marine Reserve, white sand, coral, & coconut trees, left in their natural state on top of the pristine reef.

GLOVER'S ATOLL was named after pirate brothers, John and Rodger Glover, in the1750's. In 1996 the Atoll was designated as Marine Reserve.  Thirty percent is zoned as a no take zone patrolled by Rangers from the Belize Fisheries Dept. The Rangers are stationed on Middle Caye, a research center owned by Wildlife Conservation Society. In 2000 Glover's Atoll was designated a WORLD HERTIAGE SITE under the UNESCO World Heritage Convention. This not only is an honor for Belizeans but it also makes us aware of how important our magnificent atoll really is.

At Glover's Atoll Resort you can enjoy excellent diving, snorkeling and swimming right from beach. Glover’s Atoll is Belize’s most remote atoll.  It is 90 square miles (145 km), 700 patch reefs in the lagoon and is surrounded by 50 miles (80.5km) of sheer drop-offs, which start from 25 feet and drop straight down to 2,700 feet (900 m), 45 miles (72.45 km) from the mainland. Reef crests, islands, flats offer great catch and release spin or fly-fishing.

We offer complete privacy and solitude and what we really give you is access to an amazingly beautiful unspoiled group of islands and reefs, a place to sleep, cook (or order seafood meals in our restaurant) and a truly unique experience in traditional Belizean living and the adventure of a lifetime.

Getting Here: Chartered Boat transfer is available any day of the week, but the scheduled run departs the mainland on Sundays and returns on Saturdays.

Home cooked meals served in our thatch open-air restaurant with a view of the turquoise lagoon. Breakfast is eggs or pancakes or waffles, comes with fruit or juice and coffee or tea. Lunch is salad and sandwiches. Fresh seafood dinners of conch, fish or lobster, (occasionally chicken) comes with potatoes or rice, salad or veggies homemade bread and dessert.

    * All the coconuts you can eat or drink are FREE!
    * Drinking water $2.50 gal (3.785l) and purified water $3.50 gal (3.785l).
    * Fresh baked French bread available on Tuesdays and Thursdays $5/ loaf.
    * Seafood is available for purchase by the pound as well as groceries for do it yourself meals

Camping: You can set up your tent on the gorgeous white sandy beach with coconut trees on the sea, hammocks and shared cooking area. The island has alot of beautiful beach with beach lounge chairs and hammocks.

Dormitories: The dormitories have two rooms with four beds each, shared cooking area with campers with pots, pans, utensils, candle jars, kerosene stoves, hammocks, beach lounge chairs, shower stalls, and shared composting toilets. Dormitory and our tents have sheets and mattresses, (bring towels).

Thatch Cabins:  From one double and up to four beds for families. Each cabin has, sheets, mattresses (bring towels) pots, pans, utensils, candle jars, a kerosene stove, hammocks, beach lounge chairs, shared composting toilets and shower stalls. No electricity. Heavy alcohol or drug users not welcome. You have the option to do all your own cooking or you may order the occasional meal or all your meals from our thatch restaurant.

Rate Information

Rates start at US$12 to US$40 per night.  Rates subject to 9% Tax.  Weekly package rates also available.
